64 piggies rehomed so far this year.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to everyone.

Many, many Thanks for all your cards, very much appreciated.

Our thanks go to all of you who supported us by sponsoring, donating and helping in 2008 with the care of  the piggies in the Rescue. We really do appreciate all the kind thoughts, comments and support shown. We could not help so many piggies without you all.

Please note that we will be closed for rehoming from 10th December 2008 through to January 10th 2009.

On reopening priority will be given to emergencies, neglected/sick, old and special needs piggies or piggies in need of nursing.

A few do's and dont's for rehoming:

Never advertise your piggy free to a good home, he may end up as Buzzard/snake food.

Satisfy yourself that the new owners will look after the piggies at least to your own standards.

Do not rehome to live in small cages or on sawdust or outside particularly in the Autumn through to late Spring times.

Do ask questions and ensure that potential owners know about a piggies needs.

Do make sure that potential owners are fully aware of costs including Veternary Care, that they will in fact be willing to take piggy to the vet, age that piggies can live to. Also that they are aware that Children can get bored very quickly with new pets and that they want them for themselves as much as for the Children.

Do contact your local SSPCA.

Boars for rehoming page newly updated!

We are a small self funded  non profit making, family run rescue based in  Scotland. At present we are caring for 72 piggies. Some of these we will be able to rehome and some will live out there lives with us either because they are too old to rehome or are in need of special care.
Many of  the piggies that arrive at the rescue are in a very sad state and need a lot of care and attention.
We will never turn away a piggy in need or put a piggy to sleep just because it needs a lot of care.

Guinea Pigs need rehoming for all sorts of reasons, sometimes they are just no longer wanted and sometimes very caring owners are unable to keep their much loved  piggies
No matter what the reason, owners can be sure that their piggies will receive the very best care and if they are rehomed, will only go to homes where we know they will be loved and cared for.
